The Chaos We Call Life

recognizing the beauty in chaos

Season of Peace

Today as Kaden and I sat in fasting testimony meeting, we felt the gratitude that poured out through the words of those in our congregation. There were stories shared about the joy of having family around during the holiday and stories of those unable to have family around during the holiday.

However, we finished fasting testimony meeting with the words shared by our previous Bishop. He spoke of the struggles him and his family had been having recently. He shared stories about the trials his daughter has recently been going through. One of which was a $60 parking ticket which was wild to me! He then shared the peaceful and memorable moments his family has been blessed with, within those trials.

I resonate quite a bit with the words shared by our previous Bishop. The stories of heartache and pain were different, yet both their trials and ours are alike. They are trials we face and burdens we carry.

With him as an example, I hope that I am able to move forward with an attitude of peace and ability to see the peaceful moments within.

I urge you to go through this holiday season with that same attitude of peace. Smile at the young mom passing by in the grocery store. Wave at the old man that didn’t turn his blinker on. Show love and joy through your actions, for those actions could change a life.
