The Chaos We Call Life

recognizing the beauty in chaos

New Year, New. . .Hope?

Hello 2025.

2024 was quite the year. I often find myself looking back over the year and seeing everything that’s gone wrong, whether that be wrong medications or wrong financial decisions. I also look back at the trials and tribulations myself, Kaden, and us together have faced. I often ask why. Why me? Why my family? Why this?

Today as I lie in bed looking back over the year and all of the things that made it a year, I am reminded of the small things. The countless small blessings that we have had; whether grand or minuscule.

Just to list a few:

-the first medication I was put on, we received a manufactures copay card that covered the injections 100%.

-Kaden was asked to hold a role in BYUI’s Wealth Management Society.

-I was accepted to graduate school at Kairos University.

-Kaden interviewed for his dream firm in Franklin, Tennessee -Abound Wealth- (we are still anxiously waiting to hear back)

-I received answers to more unknown medical problems.

Those are some of the bigger blessings that we have received. That doesn’t include; the increase in plasma money when we needed it, the phone calls from both of our parents when we’ve needed it most, the invitation to see a friend in a time of need, or the promptings to guide us.

I have chosen to look for and count all of the small blessings throughout 2025. I don’t want to look back and focus on the things that’s gone wrong or choices we could have made differently. I want to recognize all of the small things that carry us through the year.

I recently seen a photo of a jar on Facebook. The comment or caption of that photo suggested to get a jar (hopefully a larger one) and some paper. Every time that you receive a small or large blessing, write it down and put it in the jar. It said that on New Year’s Eve, spend time reading through all of the blessings you’ve received over the year.

This is something I am implementing in our home. The hope is to focus on the great and marvelous work of the Lord rather than the Earthly struggles. I encourage you to have your own jar, whether large or small, to count your blessings.

Happiest of New Years to all of you! Thank you for continuously reading my thoughts❤️
